About Mavis
Homestead is a registered, fully insured and licensed pet care provider run by Mavis Carden, who has been working with animals all her life. She has looked after dogs in her home in the beautiful village of Tarrant Launceston and Monkton for over 20 years and is trusted by pet owners across North Dorset.

She is also experienced in working on smallholdings and offers visits, feeding and general welfare, so providing a full service for all types of animals.

Services - Dogs
Unlike some larger Dorset pet care providers, we are very flexible in what we can offer. Regular days or just one or two a month - the choice is yours. We work with you to see what suits you best and have a maximum of 8 dogs with us each day to ensure that each gets individual care and attention.
Day Care
Leave your dog with us for the whole day in a safe and secure home environment with plenty of space to play and walks in the beautiful Tarrant Valley countryside.
Overnight Boarding
We offer a true home from home for overnight boarders. You can have a night away or a holiday reassured that your dog will be happy and well cared for. From a single night to a full week.
Home Visits
If you'd prefer us to pop in and walk your dog so they stay in their own home, then we can do that too!

Services - Smallholdings
We can look after any smallholding in North Dorset for any animal on a daily basis or occasionally from poultry to cattle, handling any aspect of livestock including letting out, feeding and skipping out horses.
